The upside: you don't get a random reward forced on you. You collect tokens and buy exactly what you want.
You can also pull up every site in game with /vote — that additionally shows you where you're able to vote right now.

Two kinds of reset: with "daily from", you can vote shortly before and shortly after that time and pick up two tokens close together. With "24 hrs after your vote", the clock starts the moment you voted — so if you always vote at the same time, you lose nothing.

Looking for your key in your inventory? It isn't there. Keys are stored on your account.
/cratesshows you what you have.
Tokens are network-wide — keys are not. A key you buy on SkyBlock can only be opened there. On SMP it's no use to you.
So only buy once you know where you want to play. Tokens don't expire, so collecting them costs you nothing.
Each server also has its own crate with rewards to match. You can see what's inside beforehand with /crates — including the odds on every prize.
Every 50 votes you're guaranteed a SuperCrate key. It holds top-tier rewards that the regular VoteCrate doesn't have. No luck required, just persistence.
At 100, 500 and 1,000 votes you permanently unlock a title.

When all players together reach 15 votes, everyone online at that moment gets a reward. You can't manage that alone in a day — it only works together.
